Lucky 7

                                                  Seven lines from new works

So, I made a friend over on twitter, fellow writer @TQuigley_Writer. He's shared a great blog challenge that was passed on to him and kindly tagged me in it. It's taken me a while because you know, I like to be fashionably late. *cough*

For all aspiring authors, the rules couldn’t be simpler;

  • Go to page 7 or 77 in your current manuscript
  • Go to line 7
  • Post on your blog the next 7 lines, or sentences, as they are – no cheating
  • Tag 7 other authors to do the same

Quick Run Down - This isn't an ordinary circus. It tells the untold story of an immortal ringmaster whose desperate need not only to revive his livelihood but to ensure he'll never be alone leads him to steal children from all over europe, children with gifts like him.

Fifteen year old, Kit Acuzio, is the latest victim but there's a problem. He's too old and too stubborn to succumb to his new life in Pandemonium.

This scene is right after the snatch of Pandemonium's first victim.

Chapter One : Line 7 of Page 7

After a couple of hours the train came to a stop but as Mikael looked around he saw there was nothing but miles upon miles of field, far from any house, car or road he could flee to. He hesitantly stepped off the train, walking into a world of magic with Corinne close behind him.

            The carnival lights blinked wildly as the rides were turned on and the tents erected further afield, animals walked freely, clowns, midgets and jugglers were everywhere he looked and mimes among other strange people passed him, oblivious to his presence.

     Mikael felt his heart squeeze inside of his chest. They were more than a carnival, more than a circus of acts, they were different, scary and he had no way of escaping them.

Thank you for tagging me, Tom! It has been a pleasure getting involved. This is a great way to share your latest novel with everyone and find out what other writers are working on too. :)

    "They were more than a carnival, more than a circus of acts, they were different, scary and he had no way of escaping them." - Perfect line to end on ^_^

    I really like the idea of this little challenge. As you say, it's a great way to share your latest stuff.

    1. :D Thank you, Ray! I think this challenge turned out wonderfully because it reminded me what I loved about FS in the first place. My excitment to read and write it was renewed by that small excerpt. <3
